Viking Festival is one of the biggest summer festivals, which is held annually at the first Sunday in August, in the small town Catoira in Galicia in order to mark the memory of the invasion of Vikings.
This year the Viking Festival visited around 50,000 people, and for the duration of the festival visitors and locals dressed up in Viking costumes combined with horns, shields and swords.
According to the tradition of the festival, and this year around 200 Viking boats arrived, and residents of Catoira were greeted them with agricultural tools in their hands to try to defend their city.
The battle eventually ended up as the Vikings, and the defenders of Catoira were wet from the wine, which spilled out of pitchers which were hanging around their necks.
