Stecak is a medieval tombstone in the shape of a large monolith ornamented by elements of architecture, borders, crosses, herbal, geometric, or astral motifs, arms or tools, human or animal representations, different scenes depicting life.
Stecak can be found in the form of a plate, shaft, cross, coffin, with or without a base.

Stecaks are mostly found in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also – though somewhat less – in Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia.
