According to the World Happiness Report, conducted on the basis of various indicators in the period from 2014 to 2016, Slovenians and Romanians are the happiest people in the region. The parameters that were used for this survey included personal freedom, life expectancy, generosity, individual income, level of corruption, and social support. The list specifies 155 countries that were rated from 1 to 10, and Serbia ranked 73rd with an average score of 5.39. Right behind Serbia are Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Albania. Not surprisingly, the top of the list shows Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, and Finland.
