Who says that going to the library can’t be fun? You should visit the one in China! It looks futuristic, has five floors, 34,000 m2, and 1.2 million books.
The library is located just outside of Beijing, China’s capital, and the Dutch company MVRDV and the Tianjin Institute for Urban Planning and Design were in charge of the design. The angles and curves of the building are designed to encourage different uses of space – reading, walking, meetings, and discussions – and together they form a central part, the so-called “eye” of the building.
