The temple, located about 80 km away from Bangkok, has become a major attraction, allowing tourists and staff to get close to the tigers and even bottle-feed some of them.
The Temple of Tigers used to be solely a place of worship but this changed when the monks received the first tiger cub, following which the temple became home to 90 wild cats. For 25 euro, visitors can tour the Tiger Canyon, the quarry populated by these large animals and, if they are willing to pay more, they can have their picture taken with a tiger.
