Prof. Aleksandar Ljubic, D. Sci.Med:Domestic experts invest significant efforts in accepting last trends, and for our patients international standards are equally available. I have to emphasize that our experts are recognized worldwide as leaders in creating new methods (such as SEGO program, for example), putting Serbia on one of the leading positions in the region.
SEEbtm magazine: How Belgrade won the bid for hosting the world congress?
Prof. Aleksandar Ljubic, D. Sci.Med: We have done bidding together with Serbia Convention Bureau (a sector within NTOS), and with our PCO agency “Aria”, and the process include preparation of special-made documents where we needed to demonstrate our quantitative and qualitative capability to organize such an important event with around 3,000 participants.
This was followed by Serbia bid promotion to the colleagues around the world, and on the final presentation in front of the World Association Board it has been decided that Belgrade has significant capacity and knowhow necessary for the organization. Of course, although this seems as unbelievably easy task, it is clear that a lot of efforts and devotions have been invested.
SEEbtm magazine: What is the connection between events organization and development of various fields of medicine?
Prof. Aleksandar Ljubic, D. Sci.Med: It is a unique opportunity to meet the colleagues from around the world, to present your own research and capacities, to be assured about quality and innovativity of new methods and technology.
“I will be free to say that organization of international meetings in Serbia is a key to success and survival in every profession, and especially in medicine.”
Congresses are very important for young residents, since in their own country they have possibility to learn and talk with leading experts in the world and present their own research.
