The new owners of the old Russian plane Ilyushin from 1960 invested about 450.000 EUR to turn it into a luxurious hotel. The hotel is now located at the airport Teuge in the Netherlands, while in the past it served as an official plane of the East German government.
Ben Thijssen, who decided to make this unusual investment, transformed the old plane into a luxurious hotel where one night costs about 350 EUR. The hotel is 40 meters long and has a congress hall that can host 15 people.
It is a five-star-hotel, as it offers – among other things – a sauna, bar, kitchen, wireless internet and it cannot crash, as it stands firmly on the ground.
