The Full of Stars hotel is a seemingly ordinary hotel, located in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. But if you learn that “Wadi Rum” actually means “Valley of the Moon”, you’ll probably guess what’s so special about the hotel.

The rooms are actually igloos with completely transparent roofs, designed so that you can admire the starry desert sky above the whole night. They are furnished with everything that you’ll find in any standard hotel room—a bed, bathroom, air conditioning, and even an enclosed balcony! Another interesting thing about this curious hotel is that it was made for the filming of Martian. After the film crew had wrapped shooting, the structure remained open and started to welcome its first guests.
