At the first conference of this kind, which was organized by Budapest based Portfolio Group in partnership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), it was said that the local market was currently the most interesting to institutional investors that is, to institutional funds, groups and banks.
Unlike foreign investors, local investors were active in the previous period. The reason mainly lies in the fact that they know the market better and problems such as unregulated planning, for which foreign investors often step aside, are not overly serious for them.
Regarding the banking sector, the conference emphasized that banks are ready to support investors, but only when they become convinced in their financial competence and capability to implement the project.
At the end of the conference, it was concluded that there is a great demand for modern office space in the Serbian market, which, in addition to the construction of shopping malls, is the most interesting for investors.
